Born in Bavaria on 05/22/1840. Teacher in early life. Died in Sheboygan 01/21/1904 where he had been Collector in the Internal Revenue Service as a deputy for some years. Came to America in 1859, residing at St. Louis. Served in Iowa regiment, then came to Cleveland in 1874. Was a Democratic Assemblyman in 1884, but later became a Republican.
