He was a cabinet maker and builder. Born in Holstein, Germany 01/14/1848. Emigrated to America in 1879, and proceeded to Holstein, Calumet County. He then moved to Fond du Lac, and in 1874, to Hilbert where he established his present business. He is building a large warehouse and salesroom. Mr Welker has built many of the fine residences in Hilbert and vicinity. In 1874, he married Miss Faikter of Holstein. They have 3 children - Godfreid, Frank, and an infant.
