Belle Hunt

Title

Belle Hunt

Description

A beautiful maiden of 20 years, of Sheboygan, ran away on Thursday to Manitowoc, with Arthur Burns, a carpenter of Chicago & Northwestern Railroad. The couple stayed at a hotel. On Friday morning, however, Burns left. Local friends of the maiden went to Manitowoc, and looked for her, to bring her home. She declined, however, and went to Milwaukee in the evening on the Goodrich Ship Atlanta, to look for her disloyal lover.  When the steamer docked in Sheboygan, her father and an official were there, where she was placed under threat of arrest, and taken home.  She had scarcely known Burns 6 weeks.  #165
